Take time for your perfect moment in the alpine town Bad Reichenhall.
About 200 shops, bakeries and cafés welcome visitors with a great assortment of offers. Here you can be sure of a warm welcome and professional service.
The Royal Spa Garden
In the royal spa garden in the center of the Alpine town of Bad Reichenhall, the air is full of AlpenSole at the brine inhalation facility, the imposing 160-meter outdoor inhalatory. From a distance you can hear the melodies of the Bad Reichenhaller Philharmonie and enjoy the fragrant, colorful floral splendor.
The Brine Inhalation Facility
The 160-meter building contains around 100,000 blackthorn bundles, from which approx. 400,000 liters of Alpine brine trickle down from a height of 13 meters per day. Take a leisurely 30-minute walk along the wind-free Siete, inhaling the fresh Apensole, which has been proven to speed up the cleansing of the upper respiratory tract and has a relaxing effect.
Fountains & Springs
Do you know where to find the so-called ‘Turtle Fountain’ or the ‘Three-headed Fountain’? And which one is the ‘Centaur Fountain’ again? Some 70 fountains of varying styles can be found in the Alpine Town.
The Old Salt Works
The Old Salt Works / Alte Saline in the Alpine Town of Bad Reichenhall are probably the most beautiful in the world. In any case they are one of Europe’s star industrial monuments and the only royal saltworks as their construction was ordered by King Ludwig I of Bavaria in 1837.
Bad Reichenhall, as well as the entire Berchtesgadener Land, has well-rooted movie-going traditions. In Bad Reichenhall alone there used to be four cinemas distributed in the various neighborhoods. One of them is the Park-Kino that is still active today.
Florian Squar - The oldest part of Bad Reichenhall
Bad Reichenhall’s Florian Square with its gable-topped houses and typically alpine flair has retained its originality and romantic setting. This square, along with the Sebastian quarter and the medieval fortification wall from the 13th c, forms the oldest part of the Alpine Town.
Bad Reichenhall's Art Academy
Far from the physical and mental duress of everyday life the Art Academy’s rooms at the Old Saltworks offer a perfect space for creative artwork. The Academy’s varied offer caters to artistically inclined people who wish to learn new techniques or add some creative moments to their relaxing vacation.
Alpine Brine - "AlpenSole"
What is AlpenSole?
The salt deposits left over from the primeval sea are stored deep in the protective rock of the Alps. For millions of years spring water has been dissolving this salt to form brine pools in the cavities below the Bad Reichenhall basin.
